Scent Profiles

The hidden healing powers of scent

Smell is one of the most principle senses that we can use for connecting ourselves with the outer world. After it enters our nose, continues straight into two important brain regions:

  1. Amygdala; which is the centre for processing our emotions
  2.  Hippocampus; responsible for learning and storing our memory.

This explains why scent is so powerful. It can take us to a happy place without travelling. We can basically control our emotions by smell. Fragrances can be also a useful tool during some internal and external healing.

That’s what we were trying to achieve with our skincare. Not only did we want it to be nice-smelling but also to connect our inherently soothing seaweed cosmetics with the healing properties that the essential oils offer.

Below is a list of our products that reflect in this

Neroli: Calming and relaxing.

Neroli face oil

Neroli essential oil is known for its amazing, rich floral scent with sharp citrus notes which has got relaxing effects. It can be mood-soothing and calmative so the best is to put it on during your night routine. It guarantees a luxurious experience.

Nutrient replenishing formulation for maturing skin can promote a healthy glow and boost collagen production. The qualities of this essential oil help to tighten skin, making it look juicy and fresh.

Neroli’s powerful property of locking moisture in the skin only boosts the benefits of the seaweed extract. Ideal for maturing skin.

Neroli + Clove body oil

Deeply moisturising and soothing body oil is perfect for your night routine when you get out of the bath and want to prepare yourself for a peaceful night.

Immersing in Neroli body oil in the nighttime can be a ritual which will make you calm and reduce tension, feeling stress and anxiety.

The warming hint of clove is not only antibacterial but it adds deep, spicy notes to the formula.

Rosemary: Restorative and brain-stimulating

Rosemary face oil

Helps to control excessive oil (sebum) production which communicates well with jojoba oil which has got a similar chemical structure to sebum. Ideal for normal to oily skin.

Antibacterial - good for fighting acne as well as unwanted bacteria and microbes which can be present on the skin surface.

Rosemary supports respiratory functions so it makes it highly beneficial to use the oil on your face when your sinuses are blocked.

For cleansing the scalp and stimulating hair follicles; use as a hair mask which will support your hair growth.

Rosemary + Clove body oil

Research shows that rosemary can improve brain function and relieve pain by improving blood circulation and cellular turnover. With vitamin-rich almond oil, they can be a good duo for tired skin prone to cellulitis or stretch marks.

Apply body oil when you want to feel energised and refreshed.

Original: Soothes skin irritations

Original face oil

Gentle but hydrating jojoba oil suits all skin types, from dry to oily. The seaweed extract has been formulated to soothe skin issues, hydrate and nourish. Our original seaweed oil is for sensitive or damaged skin. It doesn’t contain any allergens. The sweet nutty smell is the natural aroma of the carrier oil.

Original body oil

Almond oil is excellent for repairing and moisturising damaged skin. It can be a useful aid in helping to reduce scars, stretch marks or smaller skin impurities. Along with our refined seaweed extract, it can help to improve skin elasticity. It can also be used for the face as well as hair.

Face mask

Our seaweed face mask has been designed to clean and energise your skin after gentle exfoliation. Rosemary essential oil is naturally antibacterial so it helps with removing any excessive pathogens from the top layer of your skin. It also regenerates tired facial skin and can even stimulate your mood.

Body scrub

Fresh Bergamot and luxuriously floral Ylang Ylang are the scent pillars of the seaweed body scrub. Ylang Ylang has been called The Queen of Perfumes not only for its elegant notes, but this essential oil can also relax your mind, soothe anxiety and lift up your mood. It also contains molecules that help with the delivery of oxygen to cells in the body. Citrusy Bergamot essential oil is antiseptic and pain-relieving.

Our exfoliating and deeply moisturising seaweed body scrub is something you would want to take with you to the shower after a long stressful day. It is a simple tonic to bring natural glow back to dry skin, thereby restoring mood and spirits.
